March Update
Hello again! Thank you to all who came to the first, and hopefully annual, Volunteer Fair at the Elks Club last month. Twenty- two of you signed up that evening to help us at our Fourth of July breakfast and ice cream fund raiser, our Fair ice cream booth and in the office! The lucky winner of our gift basket was Linda Garlend! If you missed a chance to volunteer, please call us at 208-756-6122. As the only paid staff member, I am so grateful for all of you who volunteer so that we can continue to offer our medical equipment free of charge to the community.
Please stop by the office at 506 Van Dreff St. next month to view our Art Exhibit. The featured artist of the month for April is Heidi Messner! We are excited that several of Heidi’s beautiful paintings will be on exhibit here during the month of April.
Also, our updated caregiver list will be available at the office for pick up. If you are or know someone who is a primary caregiver and in need of a short break or even an overnight get away, there are resources on this list that may be of help.
As a primary caregiver myself for the last twenty years, I am well aware of the tendency to overlook signs of exhaustion, depression, and brain fog that can occur when caregivers fail to arrange for a break from the demanding challenges of around the clock care of a loved one. Please come in, pick up a list, and talk with me about ways that we can help.
I look forward to meeting more of you,
Liz Armstrong, Executive Director, Hospice of Salmon Valley
