The Face of Hospice

We are pleased to welcome Elizabeth “Liz” Armstrong as the new Executive Director of Hospice of Salmon Valley.

Liz comes to our organization with deep professional experience, strong leadership skills, and a heartfelt passion for serving individuals, families, and caregivers during some of life’s most meaningful moments.

A licensed Registered Nurse, Liz has worked in Emergency Medicine, Hospice Case Management, and OB Home Health. She holds a PhD in Counseling Psychology and has extensive experience leading grief support and caregiver support groups, bringing both clinical expertise and compassion to her work.

In addition, Liz holds a Master’s Degree in Divinity and served for 10 years as an ordained minister with the United Church of Christ, offering spiritual guidance and support to individuals and families navigating life’s challenges.

Liz and her husband, Alan moved to Salmon a year ago to be closer to their youngest daughter, JoAnna. JoAnna lives in Carmen, with her husband Brian and their two teenaged sons, Aidan and Colby. Liz and Alan also have two sons and a daughter, who currently live in northern California.

Liz is honored to step into this role and looks forward to serving the Salmon Valley community. She is committed to advancing the mission of Hospice of Salmon Valley by supporting those facing physical and emotional challenges with dignity, compassion, and respect.

And when she’s not working, Liz is known to enjoy time with family — and she never turns down a good bowl of ice cream.
